6 steps to our successful chip Seal program

  1. Determine traffic control levels needed to insure a safe flow of traffic. Determine any repair work needed before Chip Sealing.
  2. Repair as needed large cracks, pot holes and rough joints. We offer services to do this for you
  3. Clean surface, then spray an emulsified asphalt at a predetermined computer controlled rate. Either a polymer or non polymer emulsion
  4. Spread a calculated rate of aggregate immediately on emulsion. Either a blast furnace Slag or a washed Natural aggregate
  5. Compact the aggregate into emulsion using a 8 ton tubber tire roller(s). Using multiple passes to insure adhersion. Open to traffic after 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Sweep the surface with a kickoff broom or a vacuum sweeper to remove excess aggregate.
  7. Chip Seal can be Fog sealed or chip locked for a longer stone retention and a black appearance.
