How does it work?
Infrared rays avoid damage to the surface material because there is no open flame.
The infrared rays penetrate the asphalt material and soften it without changing it's characteristics.
The 6 steps:
- Sweep away any loose debris or standing water from the area to be repaired.
- Position the infrared panel over the area to be repaired and allow the heat to penetrate for 8-12 min. depending the depth of repair and time of year (winter repairs take the longest).
- Rake the heated material removing the old surface material then rake 1.5" to 2" deep to loosen the material.
- Add new material if needed, lute and level back to grade.
- Compact with a vibratory drum roller or a plate compactor.
- Add an asphalt rejuvenator if needed, let dry, open to traffic.

* Cost effective when compared to saw cut patches.
